Where from Here?
One of the crucial differences between the 20th and the 21st centuries is that the necessity that underlies building had undergone an important shift. The raison d'être of architecture is no longer to serve human needs but financial needs. Buildings are constructed not to provide shelter but as investment vehicles. What consequences does this phenomenon have on architecture? What is the role of architects?
