Dallas, 14 October 2009 – The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, a reimagining of a conventional theatre building, with a ground-level performance space and auditorium visible from the outside, opens in Dallas this week. The Wyly Theatre, part of the city's new AT&T Performing Arts Center, is designed by REX / OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Rem Koolhaas.

Bangkok, 23 July 2009 – In Fall 2009 construction will begin on MahaNakhon, a residential and hotel tower designed by internationally celebrated German architect Ole Scheeren, partner of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). With MahaNakhon, Scheeren, whose many landmark projects include the CCTV Tower in Beijing, has crafted a gleaming 310-metre, 77-storey skyscraper that will be the tallest building in Thailand’s capital. Completion is scheduled for 2012.

Rotterdam, July 10 2009 – De Rotterdam, a complex of three interconnected mixed-use towers designed by OMA, will go under construction in December this year, the developers MAB and OVG announced today. The project is located in the old harbour district of Wilhelminapier, next to the iconic Erasmus bridge. The three stacked towers reach 150 metres high, producing a gross floor area of approximately 160,000m2, making De Rotterdam the largest building in the Netherlands.

The design was selected from 32 entries by an international jury.

Seoul, 25 April 2009 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) is proud to announce the opening of the Prada Transformer pavilion, a pioneering temporary structure that will be picked up by cranes and rotated to accommodate a variety of cultural events. The pavilion was opened in Seoul today by the Minister of Culture of South Korea and the Mayor of Seoul in the presence of Miuccia Prada and OMA founder Rem Koolhaas.

The team responsible for Al Manakh 2 is expanding its network in the Gulf with researchers, correspondents and photographers. On March 16, Rem Koolhaas one of the editors of Al Manakh gave a lecture at the Sharjah Biennial 9, sharing his experiences in the Gulf region over the last five years. Koolhaas touched upon his respect for the region and how his insights to the Gulf have developed through professional experience.
Koolhaas pointed out that the real dynamics in the region are a lot more complex and subtle than generally perceived. To monitor and analyze those developments, the Al Manakh team launched its website, almanakh.org, in preparation for the publication Al Manakh 2: Export Gulf.

Rotterdam/Beijing, 27 January 2009 - The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has been awarded the first prize in the design competition to build the Taipei Performing Arts Centre. The design, led by OMA partners Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren, was selected from over 135 entries from 24 countries by an international jury.
