OMA's Prada Transformer opens in Seoul
Seoul, 25 April 2009 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) is proud to announce the opening of the Prada Transformer pavilion, a pioneering temporary structure that will be picked up by cranes and rotated to accommodate a variety of cultural events. The pavilion was opened in Seoul today by the Minister of Culture of South Korea and the Mayor of Seoul in the presence of Miuccia Prada and OMA founder Rem Koolhaas.

Al Manakh 2 launches website at Art Dubai and Sharjah Biennial 9
The team responsible for Al Manakh 2 is expanding its network in the Gulf with researchers, correspondents and photographers. On March 16, Rem Koolhaas one of the editors of Al Manakh gave a lecture at the Sharjah Biennial 9, sharing his experiences in the Gulf region over the last five years. Koolhaas touched upon his respect for the region and how his insights to the Gulf have developed through professional experience.
Koolhaas pointed out that the real dynamics in the region are a lot more complex and subtle than generally perceived. To monitor and analyze those developments, the Al Manakh team launched its website, almanakh.org, in preparation for the publication Al Manakh 2: Export Gulf.

OMA to build Taipei Performing Arts Centre
Rotterdam/Beijing, 27 January 2009 - The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has been awarded the first prize in the design competition to build the Taipei Performing Arts Centre. The design, led by OMA partners Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren, was selected from over 135 entries from 24 countries by an international jury.

OMA to build residential high-rise in New York, its first new building in the city
New York City, 11 September, 2008 – Slazer Enterprises, developer of One Madison Park, in collaboration with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Los Angeles based Creative Artists Agency (CAA) presents to the public today their design for a new luxury residential high-rise, 23 East 22nd Street, OMA's first new building in New York City.

CCTV headquarters façade completed
Beijing, August 6, 2008 – The final panels of the glass facade of OMA's CCTV building have been installed, marking a crucial stage in the construction of the new TV station for China’s national broadcaster, designed by Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren.

OMA Presents Design for Coolsingel Project
Rotterdam, June 9, 2008 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Dutch development company Multi Vastgoed will today present the concept design for a mixed-use building situated in the heart of Rotterdam's shopping district, the Coolsingel. A historic ABN AMRO building will become part of the project which contains 120,000m2 of program, including 30,000m2 of retail and 70,000m2 of office, residential, culture and leisure space. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2011, opening in 2013.

Prada Foundation: a new collaboration with OMA
Milan, 18 April 18, 2008 – AMO, the think-tank of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has been commissioned by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli to design the intervention on and transformation of an early 20th-century industrial site south of Milan to create new experimental spaces for the Prada Art Foundation.

Urban, social and ecological master plan for Cagliari
Cagliari, 9 April, 2008 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has presented its concept Masterplan of Saint'Elia, a fishing port in the south of Cagliari, the capital of the Italian island of Sardinia. With an initial foreseen investment of €30 million, OMA’s masterplan aims to address the complex social and environmental issues in the neglected area.

OMA reveals design of Bryghusgrunden Project
Copenhagen, April 7, 2008 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) today revealed the design for the Bryghusgrunden Project at the historic waterfront in Copenhagen. The 27,000 square meter building will include new facilities for the Danish Architecture Center (DAC), the headquarters of the Realdania Foundation, along with a distinctive mix of residential units, public program and playground facilities.

Rotterdam, 19 March 2008 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has been selected to redevelop the iconic Commonwealth Institute in Kensington and Chelsea, London, by Chelsfield, one of the United Kingdom's major property development groups, and their partner Ilchester Estate. The project includes the addition of a major residential scheme alongside the rejuvenation of the 1960’s structure at the edge of Holland Park. more

OMA designs city from scratch in Dubai
Rotterdam, 12 March 2008 – The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has completed the Masterplan of Waterfront City, a city to be built from scratch by Nakheel in Dubai. Waterfront City will form a vibrant centre for the larger 140,000,000 m2 Waterfront development. Waterfront is Dubai's largest development to date providing homes for a prospective 1.5 million new inhabitants, effectively doubling Dubai’s population and creating one million jobs.

The State Hermitage Museum and AMO to collaborate on 2014 Masterplan

OMA New York's One Madison Park
New York, 4 December 2007 – Slazer Enterprises, developer of One Madison Park, announced today a collaboration with Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) to develop a high-end residential tower, OMA's first new building in New York City. The partnership allies the talent agency and OMA to create the CAA Screening Room, which will be available for residents of the tower and CAA guests.

Construction begins on Shenzhen Stock Exchange
Shenzhen, 22 November 2007 – Officials from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SSE) and local government together with representatives from the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) have broken ground for the construction of the new headquarters for China’s equivalent of the NASDAQ.
